OVERVIEW

The Financial Controller will oversee all accounting operations, ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP (and conversion to U.S. GAAP), and support strategic financial planning. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity, managing audits, and delivering timely and accurate financial reporting for the Dutch entity and its integration into global operations, including reporting for SOX compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Dutch and U.S. GAAP. Ensure compliance with local tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, monitor variances, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
• Internal Controls & Audit: Develop and maintain proper internal control systems. Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit processes. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
• ERP & Systems Oversight: Oversee ERP system and ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Develop and supervise a finance team over time. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration with continuous improvement.

• Fluent in Dutch and English.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.

EXPERIENCE

• Preferred: 5+ years of experience in financial reporting and accounting roles in a public company, preferably in a multinational and Dutch-based company.
• Ten years or more of Controller experience required.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
• Ability to obtain a “Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag” (VOG) from the Dutch government.
